Parade orders and staging information will be sent to accepted entries 10 days prior to the parade. All entries are deemed accepted unless otherwise notified.

Entries must be received no later than October 15, 2010 in order to be included in the Parade Program.

General Parade Information

This information will be used in the Parade Program and by the Parade Announcers. Please include the names of individuals responsible (such as director, captain, etc.). include background of your entry, how long formed, color and style of uniform, previous awards won, etc. in the Description of Entry field below.

Please note that the parade organizers reserve the right to refuse any parade entry that is deemed inappropriate for the parade theme or disrespectful to our military. If you have any questions regarding the propriety of your entry, please contact Debbie Schmidt/dsh Solutions.

Commercial entries may carry the name only of the sponsoring firm or organization in addition to a theme wording.

Disclaimer:

It is agreed by all parties that the parade entry owners/sponsors accept full responsibility for protection against personal injury and property damage in the operation and presentation of said entry, and that the Antelope Valley Veterans Day Parade, FOLC and the City of Lancaster shall be indemnified and held harmless by the same.

All Entries must fit a classification. All decorations must be fireproof.

  1. All participants must be uniformed, costumed, or appropriately attired.
  2. Any entries consisting of only advertising or expressing political, social, etc. viewpoints will not be accepted.
  3. All entries in the parade must be approved by the Parade Committee. Any deviation from the rules must be approved by the Parade Committee prior to the acceptance of the parade application.
  4. Parade will start promptly at 10:00 am.
  5. The Parade Committee accepts no responsibility for false statements made by applicants or entrants.
  6. FORWARD motion must be maintained throughout the parade route.
  7. Violations subject to disqualification.
  8. No one under the age of 9 will be permitted to march -- without special permission.
  9. Please carry an identification banner if possible.
  10. All entries must be in by October 15, 2010 in order to be included in the Parade Program. .
  11. Check-in booth closing time: 9:30 am. All units must be checked in by this time.
  12. At no time is any unit allowed to hand out or throw anything along the parade route without special permission.
  13. No shooting of FIREARMS is allowed.
  14. No Colors for any motorcycle group may be worn. This is a "no colors" event. We appreciate your understanding.
  15. No sirens or loud noices that interfere with other units is allowed.
  16. Walking units are limited to musical units, drill teams, or unique units determined to have entertainment quality and approved by the Parade Committee. This category of entry does not apply to walkers who are a part of another type entry.
  17. A walking group must have a Veterans Day or patriotic theme and all members of that group who are walking in the parade must be costumed to compliment the entry’s overall theme.
  18. Height: Parade entries should be no more than 20' in height and should not impair or touch electrical or other wiring over the parade route.
  19. Signage: Size of signage associated with an entry is limited to meet the parade’s objective as well as to not conflict with or take away from the overall entry itself. Following guidelines are provided:
    1. One sign on each side of the float, identifying entry’s name and/or sponsor. Sign should be no larger than 5' x 2'.
    2. Vehicles: One sign on each side of vehicle, showing entry name and/or sponsor. Sign should be no larger than 18" x 12".
    3. Walking and/or horse unit: One sign showing entry name and/or sponsor and carried in front of entry itself. Sign should be no larger than 6’ x 3’
